What is moova Fassmord?

Moova „Fassmord“ (barrel murder) is an adventurous interactive radio play about and in the city of Frankfurt am Main.

The play consists of a crime story and true historical background knowledge about the city′s sights and people.

Players walk through Frankfurt with GPS enabled PDAs and headphones while interactive dialogue automatically starts based on the player′s location.

Moova is spoken by professional actors partly using „Frankfurter Mundart“ (dialect) to let players experience the city′s authentic atmosphere.

The game can be played by multiple persons using one PDA together and therefore specifically aims at educating and entertaining families and school classes as an exciting addition to academic books.

Moova is adaptive for all larger tourist cities as well as for many different story genres such as Fairy Tales or Science Fiction.

At the moment there is a fully functional prototype.

The devices (a PDA and Bluetooth Headsets for all players) are intended to be for rent in the city center.

Fassmord began as project by a group of students at the Hochschule Darmstadt including Nic Berninger, Maximilian Diener, Kathrin Fuchs, Thomas Hoger, Anne Kraut, Martina Krugmann, Sabrina Radke and Daniel Reckling.

The tutors were Prof. Claudia Söller-Eckert, Prof. Thomas Bauer and Dr. Stefan Göbel
